Encircle
Pull the field documentation your crew already captures in Encircle — moisture readings, atmospheric readings, notes and photos — onto the job in SimpliWork.
Professional plan, and the workspace has to switch it on: Settings → Integrations → Encircle.
Connecting
Encircle authenticates with a bearer token issued from your own Encircle account. There is nothing for SimpliWork to be approved for — the token is yours.
- In Encircle, generate an API token.
- In SimpliWork, Settings → Integrations → Encircle, paste it, and save.
The token is encrypted at rest and never shown again. To replace it, paste a new one; to stop, remove it.
Saving or removing a token asks you to confirm your password first. It is a credential for your whole Encircle account, and handing one over should take a deliberate act.
Linking a job
Open the job, go to Field Data, and enter the Encircle job number. It is the number in Encircle's own URL when you have the claim open.
A job follows one Encircle claim. Pointing an already-linked job at a different one is refused rather than done quietly — two claims' readings mixed into one drying log would look completely legitimate, which is what makes it dangerous.
To move it, unlink first.
Syncing
Sync on the Field Data tab pulls everything since the last time. The tab says when it last asked, not when something last arrived — a sync that found nothing new still happened.
Nothing is pushed. SimpliWork reads Encircle and never writes to it.
What comes across
Moisture readings — the drying log. Material, reading, dry standard, and where it was taken.
Atmospheric readings, in two kinds:
- Affected — temperature and humidity inside the area you are drying.
- Unaffected — the same, somewhere untouched. The baseline that makes the rest mean something.
Notes — what the crew wrote on site, with their photos.
What you see here is a copy, taken at the last sync — not a live window into Encircle. That is deliberate. A reading does not change after it is taken, and a drying log you can still pull up when Encircle is having a bad morning is worth more than one that goes blank.
Photos
Photo details come across on sync; the image itself is fetched from Encircle when somebody opens it, and served through SimpliWork.
So the pictures are there when you want them, without SimpliWork keeping a second copy of every site photo your crew has ever taken — and without ever handing out a link into your Encircle account.
Why readings are not notes
They are a different thing, so they are a different tab.
Notes are a conversation between people. Readings are a time series about a building. A week of drying logs dropped into the notes thread buries the one note that says the owner agreed to replace the subfloor.
If a sync fails
"Encircle refused the token" — it was revoked or regenerated at their end. Paste a new one.
"That job was not found" — the number is wrong, or the claim belongs to a different Encircle organisation than the token does.
"Could not reach Encircle" — their end, or the network. Try again later; nothing is lost, and the next sync picks up from where this one stopped.
